Father Christopher Brown became the rector of Trinity Church in April 2000.  Under his leadership Trinity has grown into a very active church with the addition of healing services, community suppers, many Bible studies and classes throughout the week as well as the expansion of many of our ministries. He also currently serves as the Dean of the St. Lawrence Deanery, and Archdeacon and Canon Theologian of the Diocese of Albany.

Born in  Zurich in 1955, Father Brown grew up in the Boston area. Unchurched as a child, he became interested in eastern religions and majored in Asian Studies while attending Amherst College. In his early twenties he came to faith in Christ, and was confirmed in the Episcopal Church in 1979.

He received his Master of Divinity degree from General Theological Seminary in New York City in 1985, and was ordained to the priesthood  by the bishop of Massachusetts, The Rt. Rev. John B. Coburn. In 2001, Father Christopher received his Ph.D. in Systematic Theology from Union Theological Seminary in New York City.

Fr. Christopher served in parishes in Pelham, NY, New York City, and Kingston, NY, before coming to Trinity Church.

Father Christopher is married to Starr, and has two children, Amelia and Nathaniel. In his spare time he plays jazz guitar and is an avid reader.

The sermons of Father Brown are usually recorded. You can listen to the most recent ones in the Sermons area.

Father Brown is a regular contributor to The Albany Episcopalan. A listing of his recent articles may be found in the Info Center.

Deacon Rick came to Trinity Church as a Deacon-at-large in 2007. He serves many of areas of our church including the healing ministry and assisting Father Christopher with healing services and Sunday Holy Eucharist.

Prior to coming to Trinity Deacon Rick was a Deacon at St. John's Church in Massena.  He began Deacon's School in fall 2001 and  was ordained to the deaconate on June 28, 2003 by Bishop Herzog.

After receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Distribution in 1972 from Clarkson College, now Clarkson University, Deacon Rick was first employed by Remington Arms and for Aluminum Company of America (ALCOA) at the Massena Operation in the Industrial Egineering department. In 1979 he moved to the production area where he worked until 2003 when he retired on disability after a serious industrial accident.

According to Deacon Rick "GOD took this 'lemon' and transformed it into 'lemonaide'." He also feels that when Bishop Love granted his request to be a Deacon-at-large that GOD had granted him "my heart's desire" and that his close relationship with Trinity Chuch has been the most ewonderful experience of his life.

Deacon Rick is currently assisting Father Chuck Smith at Grace Church in Canton.
