Daughters of the King
President: Barb Hardiman

The Daughters of the King is a national order of women within the Episcopal Church and other churches in the Historic Episcopate who undertake a Rule of Life, incorporating the Rule of Prayer and the Rule of Service. By reaffirming the promises made at baptism and confirmation, a daughter pledges herself to a life-long program of prayer, service and evangelism dedicated to the spread of Christ‘s Kingdom and the strengthening of the Spiritual life of her parish.

Because of this vow, Daughters refer to themselves as an order, not an organization. The Daughters of the Holy Trinity is the local chapter of the Daughters of the King at Trinity, Potsdam. Our order is reaching out to all women in the church, who are interested in strengthening their relationship with Christ, growing their prayer life and who serve the church and surrounding community. Last year at this time there were only four active members with two in training for our local chapter.

We will continue our daily personal Rule of Life, regular monthly meetings for study and prayer, help with the Community Suppers, work on the parish addition and help out with fund raisers for worthy causes like Habitat for Humanity, Helping Hands, and etc…

In addition, we continue to be vehicles of intercessory prayer. We carry this intercessory prayer into our daily lives, where we pray for the church, our parish, diocese, clergy, their families and parishioners, as well as the world. Each person at Trinity is prayed for daily by the members of our chapter. We have a prayer chain and anyone may call a member of the Daughter of the King to request prayer for his/her personal concerns or needs. This prayer chain is a wonderful way to petition God on behalf of others and draw us all closer to him and his will for us.

We have joined with the Daughter of the King members of St. Philip‘s Norwood. We still hold our meetings every fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:00 P.M. but now alternate between Trinity, Potsdam and St. Philip‘s, Norwood.
